Ian Finkel is regarded as the world's greatest xylophonist.
He has appeared and written for such stars as Michael Feinstein, Sid Caesar, Ginger Rogers, Tito Puente, Larry Gatlin, Martin Mull, Madeline Kahn to name just a few.
Mr. Finkel has covered much ground in the music world. He has made multiple television appearances, recorded for most major record labels and has had successful concert tours in the U.S, Japan, Korea, Canada, Mexico and England.
A sought after arranger/composer, Ian has collaborated with Philip Glass and has heard his works performed by numerous orchestras such as the American Symphony Orchestra and the Little Orchestra Society.
Ian’s television and film appearances include Love Laffs (Lifetime) with Terri Gar, Martin Mull (Showtime) Jerry Lewis Telethon and Woody Allen's Radio Days. He had also appeared with Emo Phillips, Judy Tenuta, Taj Mahal, Michael Feinstein on Broadway, Sid Caesar at the Village Vanguard., He has also appeared on Broadway in Second Avenue to Broadway with Fyvush Finkel.
Ian has performed at hundreds of colleges across the US and Canada (Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, Peabody etc.).
Ian has performed to amazed audiences on cruise ships around the world.
As a writer Ian has penned many film and stage productions including Rainbow Wars (nominated for Academy Award), It's Up To All Of Us, Second Avenue to Broadway, Michael Feinstein In Concert, Sophie Tucker in Person (currently on US tour), Nick at Nite Music of Vic Mizzy (Adams Family, Green Acres), IBM Industrials, CNN Cable News, three novels and books of short stories.
