PAUL EDISON was born in Liverpool, England. The Beatles and the Mersey Sound were changing the whole music scene. It seemed like everyone in the 60’s was in a band and Paul was no exception.
Can you imagine being 16 years old, fronting your own band, sharing the stage with Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Hollies, Billy J. Kramer, and many 60’s legends?
It was an exciting time and laid the foundations for a fabulous singing career that has prospered for more than 4 decades.
Paul has many T.V. appearances and Radio broadcasts for the B.B.C.to his credit. Winner of London Weekend Televisions….. ‘Search for a Star’… in the late 70’s led to many offers including a part in ‘Joseph’s Technicolor Dreamcoat’
20 years ago, Paul was introduced to Cruise Ships. Performing mainly to American and British audiences, he has sailed the world over.
Today Paul performs “In Concert” featuring the music of Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones, Neil Diamond, Tony Bennett, Elvis Presley, Bobby Darin, and many more.
Paul’s unique ability to actually sound like each of the artists he performs is what sets him apart. Sing Sinatra, he sounds like him. Sing Neil Diamond, he sounds like him…… His ‘Vocalizations’ evoke great emotion with his audience. His humor - coupled with a great stage presence - always leaves his audiences wanting more.
Born and raised in New Jersey and the product of thirteen years of Catholic education, Stand-up comedian Tom Drake’s act has been called “An Attitude with a Tie”.
His likable style and hilarious observational skills, however, have made him a popular performer in Atlantic City, Las Vegas, on the concert stage, and aboard cruise ships around the world.
During his career, he has worked the concert stages opening for Tim Allen, Paula Poundstone, Rita Rudner, Henny Youngman, Elayne Boosler, Phyllis Diller, and Leon Redbone.
In 1995, Tom was given an opportunity to audition for the major cruise lines at a showcase in Miami, Florida. His audition went we;; and the next day Tom was offered fourteen months of work on five different cruise lines.
Those fourteen months turned into 24 years, fifty countries, thousands of frequent flyer miles, three passports, one too many Caribbean islands, an appendix removal in Greece, and the occasional hangover. All occupational hazards if you spend that many weeks on cruise ships.
Tom says “I could have stayed working the comedy clubs in Jersey and walked onstage and got heckled by three drunks with baseball hats on backward who were usually the club owners but the ships offered a chance for me to develop my act in front of a cross-section of America while seeing the world at the same time”.
Kind of like the Army without the M-16 and the 5 am wake-up call.
